Pringle retires as an Alouette By BILL BEACON MONTREAL (CP) - The Montreal Alouettes kept secret their most high-profile off-season acquisition - all-time CFL rushing leader Mike Pringle. That was because Pringle only signed for one day this week, then immediately filed his retirement papers with the CFL, fulfilling his wish to leave the league he dominated as an Alouette. "I wanted to walk away as an Alouette," Pringle said Tuesday. "We were able to sign a contract so I could be part of this organization and leave as I always envisioned. "I always saw myself in that No. 27 jersey." Pringle, who played his last two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos after a bitter parting with the Alouettes, is to be honoured before the Als' CFL season-opening game Wednesday night against the Hamilton Tiger
